Berdimuhamedov to send delegation to inauguration of President of Iran

The leader of Turkmenistan said that he would not be able to attend the ceremony because of the international events scheduled to take place in Avaza.

On July 20, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with Iranian leader Ebrahim Raisi. He congratulated his colleague on the election to the post of the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that the Turkmen delegation would attend the inauguration ceremony, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

Berdimuhamedov thanked the Iranian president for the invitation to take part in the corresponding solemn event on August 5. He noted that he would not be able to personally be in Tehran because of the international events scheduled to take place in tourist zone Avaza. According to the Turkmen leader, a representative delegation from Ashgabat will be sent to Iran.

Raisi, in turn, noted the importance of this telephone conversation that allows exchanging views on the current state of intergovernmental relations, as well as to outline the vectors of future cooperation. The parties agreed to find more effective and modern forms of interaction in energy, transport, construction, and agriculture.

Berdimuhamedov invited the Iranian President to visit Ashgabat at any time convenient for him, as well as to take part in the 6th Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States and the 15th meeting of the Presidents of the ECO member states in October and November this year.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed the situation in Afghanistan. Raisi offered to organize negotiations and consultations of officials of the two countries on this issue.
