Japarov criticizes work of judicial and law enforcement agencies

The President of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting on the improvement of judicial and law enforcement activities in the country.

On June 7, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held a meeting to criticize the work of courts and law enforcement agencies of the country. The Council under the President on improvement of judicial and law enforcement activities is holding its first meeting in Bishkek, the press office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The leader of Kyrgyzstan noted that courts and law enforcement agencies that decided the fate of thousands of citizens ensured the stability in the country. He said incompetence of employees undermined trust to the system and the state.

“According to studies of the country offices of the international organisations, investor confidence in courts and law enforcement agencies is currently low. They view our system as incapable of protecting their rights. In such circumstances, we, the authorities, must hear their opinions and draw conclusions,” the President said.

Japarov highlighted the need to create judicial bodies, which would be able to uphold the foundations of the constitutional system and protect the rule of law, the integrity of economic space and property and non-property rights of citizens and legal entities.
