Japarov meets with residents of destroyed Maksat village in Batken Region

The President said none of local residents would be left without assistance.

On May 27, during his working trip to Batken Region, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov visited Maksat village in Leilek district that had been destroyed during the recent events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. During his meeting with local residents, Japarov told them about the ongoing process of border delimitation and demarcation, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“The leader of Kyrgyzstan emphasised that the state had been paying and would continue to pay special attention to Batken Region. The President assured that none of local residents would be left without assistance and support. Japarov also highlighted the need to target humanitarian aid,” the press report says.

The local residents raised the issues regarding the support for those who had suffered from recent events and asked questions. Expressing gratitude to the people of Kyrgyzstan and the state for providing support, they said they were receiving humanitarian aid from all over the country.
