Japarov calls on EAEU Member States to boost common financial market

Integration within the Eurasian Economic Union undoubtedly remains a priority for Kyrgyzstan.

On May 21, speaking at the online meeting of the EAEU Member States, President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov put forward a proposal for the expansion of the common financial market. He noted that integration within the Eurasian Economic Union undoubtedly remained a key priority for Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The last year demonstrated that there was a need to simplify mutual access to financial markets, the President said. Despite a decrease in aggregate demand, the past weakening of national currencies along with external food inflation had led to surge in consumer prices across the Union. It was recommended that the focus should be on enhancing partnerships in the currency area with a wider use of national currencies in mutual settlements, the President emphasised.

Dwelling on the idea of positioning the Union as the centre of the Greater Eurasian space, the leader of Kyrgyzstan said the EAEU should aim international activities at providing inter-linkages on the crucial economic aspects, basing on economic feasibility. He also stressed that the infrastructure of the commodity distribution trading system would not only reduce transport costs, but also contribute to bringing the continent into one whole, providing the link among stocks, commodities and sales markets.
