The agenda of cooperation within the UN, SCO, OSCE and CICA was discussed at the summit.
On May 20, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev discussed key aspects of bilateral and international joint activities with President Emomali Rahmon during his official visit to Tajikistan, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
The leaders of the two states discussed a wide range of issues of strategic partnerships. Particular attention was paid to the specifics and aspects of political dialogue and cooperation in economy, investment geography, culture and humanitarian sphere. They also exchanged views on the approaches to ensuring peace, cohesion and stability in Central Asia and collaborating on the platforms of international organisations.
The President of Kazakhstan said the volume of trade between the two countries stood at US$ 800 million in 2020 despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It proves that the states have large economic reserves, and we must initiate business counter-proposals to each other building on them, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.
Emomali Rahmon said Tajikistan was ready to continue building up constructive contacts across the entire spectrum of multifaceted bilateral relations.
The leaders of the two states discussed the agenda of cooperation within the UN, SCO and OSCE and activities within CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia).
