On May 17, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Jyldyz Bakashova had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen. The Kyrgyz side thanked the foreign counterparts for providing assistance in combating coronavirus and supporting the national economy with grants. Bakashova also requested that the Chinese counterparts assist in reconstructing infrastructure and social facilities in Batken Region, the press office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

“Currently, the top priority task of the Cabinet of Ministers is to speed up the vaccination campaign.  Our society has responded quite positively to the delivery of the Sinopharm vaccine in humanitarian aid from the People’s Republic of China. I would like to express my gratitude to the Chinese side for the decision to provide Kyrgyzstan with the second batch of 150,000 vaccine doses free of charge,” Bakashova said.

She informed of ongoing renovation activities in the border villages of Batken Region and thanked once again the Chinese leadership for the willingness to provide all possible assistance to the people affected by the Kyrgyz-Tajik border clash.

As was reported, the foreign ministers of the two countries Ruslan Kazakbaev and Wang Yi agreed that Kyrgyzstan would receive 150,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine.
