Tokayev tells Finland about interest in green technologies and telecommunications

The President confirmed his readiness to confer special preferences to foreign investors and transfer Finnish technologies.

On May 14, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland, Co-Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Finland Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Ville Skinnari, who had arrived in Kazakhstan for a working visit, the press office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Finland is a significant link in foreign economic activity of the Republic and its largest source of investment among the countries of the northern part of the Old World. Noting that Kazakhstan was committed to fostering a high-level political dialogue, Tokayev expressed his best wishes to President of Finland Sauli Niinistö and invited him to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.

The guest said the friendly countries had taken the path of fruitful and constructive bilateral relations. In this context, he underscored the need to increase mutual trade and expand the geography of investments.

Setting priorities, the President of Kazakhstan said the implementation of joint projects in the field of green and telecommunication technologies was of particular interest. Tokayev confirmed his readiness to confer special preferences to foreign investors and transfer Finnish technologies.

The interlocutors noted the relevance of the activities of four ad-hoc groups of the Intergovernmental Commission in the energy, logistics, agricultural and education sectors.
