Prime Minister of Tajikistan meets with President of Uzbekistan

Tashkent will host the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

On May 14, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda had a meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Kokhir Rasulzoda arrived in Tashkent to participate in the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which would take place on May 14-15, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

Kohir Rasulzoda conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Emomali Rahmon to the leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The parties discussed the ways of expanding multifaceted cooperation and strengthening Tajikistan-Uzbekistan relations of friendship, good neighbourliness and strategic partnerships. Mirziyoyev expressed profound satisfaction with the level of interaction between the two countries.

The interlocutors dwelt on the implementation of promising projects in the mechanical engineering, energy, mining, trade, agricultural, textile, transport, health care and tourism sectors, as well as the enhancement of contacts at the level of regions and business communities and discussed the project of humanitarian and cultural exchange.

They discussed the preparations of the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan summit. Kohir Rasulzoda said he would make every effort to promote large-scale partnerships between the two neighbouring countries.
