Mirziyoyev instructed to reduce costs of public services

It was proposed to spend a portion of the funds generated through the delivery of public services on digital transformation of businesses.

On May 10, speaking at the presentation on public sector efficiency, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the need to reduce costs of public services and spend a portion of these funds on digital transformation of businesses, the website of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

It was emphasised that the general mass of data submitted in the paper format had not been digitized, impeding the prompt delivery of services and the expansion of their scope. Out of 30 available digital public services, 11 are interactive; digital authentication and signature are not applied. This can help make public services more convenient and affordable.

It would be reasonable to spend 20% of the funds generated through the delivery of public services on the improvement of IT systems in businesses and digitalization of archival data. Mirziyoyev also highlighted the need to improve collaboration among the departments involved in this work.

The President ordered the high-ranking officials to increase the number of public services to 200 by the end of the year using the international practices and the departments to take the necessary measures to simplify procedures, shorten lead times, reduce costs and use discounts.
