Tokayev congratulates veterans and people of Kazakhstan on Victory Day

The President expressed belief that that the courage, heroism and selfless work of the contemporaries of the war would always live in the people’s memory.

On May 9, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev addressed a congratulatory message to the veterans and people of Kazakhstan on the Great Victory Day. The message was posted on the website of the President of Kazakhstan.

The President of Kazakhstan said this significant day was a symbol of the glory and valour of the heroes-winners who had defended the right of peoples to freedom and a prosperous life in the severe and bloody battles. Tokayev also recalled the sad episodes, noting that over a million volunteers from Kazakhstan had gone to the front to defend the homeland and half of them had never returned home.

The President expressed belief that that the courage, heroism and selfless work of the defenders of the Fatherland, who had performed the greatest feat of arms in the history of humankind, would always live in the people’s memory.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted that 665 veterans and 100,000 home front workers were celebrating the 76th anniversary of the Victory together with the people in 2021, and all of them would receive the state support. The President wished all the veterans and compatriots good health, a peaceful sky and a happy life.
