The call to resume regular passenger and cargo flights is one of the factors promoting the revival of cooperation.
On April 27, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a meeting with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao. The leader of Kazakhstan called on the Chinese side to fill strategic partnerships between the states with practical content in the post-crisis period, the press office of Akorda reported.
The leader of Kazakhstan emphasised that China remained Kazakhstan’s biggest trading partner. Last year, mutual trade turnover reached US$ 15 billion despite the constraints and challenges.
Tokayev said that it was time to switch trade and investment contacts to the trajectory of sustainable and balanced development after the forced ‘vacation’. The President suggested restoring road and rail checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-China border to normal operation to raise the carrying capacity and called on China to resume regular passenger and cargo flights.
Along with the revitalisation of transport arteries, the President highlighted the importance of synergising the efforts and potentials of the two countries to promote cooperation in such promising areas as digital technology, green economy and innovative production, in which China ranks among the global leaders.
