Tashiev to discuss retention of 30 hectares under Kyrgyzstan with Uzbek side

The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security met with the residents of Yntymak and answered their questions on the exchange of territory with Uzbekistan.

On April 20, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev met with residents of Yntymak village in Savay rural area, Kara-Suu District, Osh Region to discuss the exchange of territory with Uzbekistan, namely 50 hectares of land on the territory of the Kempirabad water storage reservoir, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The rural residents raised a number of issues related to the distribution of water resources and livestock grazing on the territory of the Kempirabad water storage reservoir.

Tashiev emphasised that citizens of Kyrgyzstan had the right to use water resources, namely, to fish, take water and water their livestock from the reservoir, adding that this was enshrined in the protocol as a separate paragraph.

The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security said he would discuss the possibility of exchanging 20 hectares of land at the beginning of the Sharikhansai canal near the Kempirabad water storage reservoir for the above 50 hectares during the upcoming talks with the Uzbek side.
