OSCE ready for further close cooperation with Bishkek, Linde says

The parties discussed the aspects of bilateral interaction and the priority areas of cooperation for the near future.

On April 13, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov had a meeting with Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde. The parties discussed the aspects of bilateral interaction and the priority areas of cooperation for the near future, the press office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The President briefed the guest on the internal socio-political processes, marking the beginning of the completion of the ‘transition period’, and the ongoing measures to achieve internal political stability.

Noting that the new Constitution imposed liability on the head of state, the leader of Kyrgyzstan expressed belief that the new Constitution would maintain the constitutional order and ensure further growth of the country.

Linde said Kyrgyzstan was viewed as a very valuable partner and member country with which the Organization intended to continue cooperation.

She also congratulated Kyrgyzstan as one of the first countries in the region to adopt the Action Plan for the Implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution on Women, Peace and Security.
