Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs of Afghanistan arrives in Ashgabat

Mohammad Qasim Halimi met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

An Afghan delegation headed by Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs Mohammad Qasim Halimi arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan on April 6. The officials met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov. They discussed the prospects for further interstate cooperation, as reported by the press office of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

Special attention was paid to the high level of humanitarian partnership. Halimi noted the importance of the fraternal support of the authorities of Turkmenistan to the people of Afghanistan.

He marked several economic and social projects that were implemented on the territory of the IRA with the participation of Ashgabat. He reminded that a mosque in the Faryab province was built at the expense of Turkmenistan.

The parties also discussed the effectiveness of the neutral policy, which is implemented thanks to the efforts of the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Halimi and Meredov touched upon the issue of a peaceful settlement of the situation in the IRA, in particular with the use of diplomatic methods. The officials exchanged views on the expansion of relations between the states in education, science, and culture.

It must be added that on January 14, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan launched the Akina-Andkhoy railway, the Kerki-Shibergan power line, and modern international fiber-optic communication lines.
