This year the season will involve more than 7.6 thousand tractors of various brands, 1.7 thousand seeders, and 5.5 thousand cotton cultivators.

Cotton sowing started in four provinces of Turkmenistan on March 24. To achieve a rich harvest, as well as to facilitate the work of cotton growers, the sowing and picking of cotton in the region are actively mechanized. More than 7.6 thousand tractors of various brands, 1.7 thousand seeders, and 5.5 thousand cotton cultivators, and other agricultural units will be involved in the agricultural season in 2021, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

This year, 620 thousand hectares of sown areas have been allocated for «white gold». It is planned to receive a harvest in the amount of 1.250 million tons from all agricultural enterprises of the provinces.

Also this year, 1200 harvesters will be involved in the country. Each one can harvest cotton from 12 hectares per day. With the help of all combines capable of working on 14,400 hectares per day, harvesting in the region can be completed in a month and a half.

It must be added that, based on the agreement between Turkmenistan and John Deere, signed in 2019, 600 units of equipment were delivered to the state in two stages. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of delivered harvesting equipment to 1000. In addition to American technology, machines manufactured by CLAAS and MX-1.8 (Uzbekistan) also operate in the region.

Besides Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British JCB Sales Limited. The company will deliver high-quality agricultural machinery to the country.

It should be mentioned that in 2020 the relevant state enterprises exported to European countries, China, the Republic of Turkey, and Russia over 60% of local textiles made of eco-cotton. As a result, the volume of external sales amounted to 319 million dollars.
