President’s ‘involvement’ immediately solves problems in Turkistan Region

Rural communities in Turkestan Region have been complaining about numerous social and housing problems for many years.

On March 16, a Government working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov visited Turkistan Region on the instructions of the President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to inspect social and living conditions in a number of border villages, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister met with residents of the settlements of Bagys and Khiyabon in Saryagash Region, who told him about their pressing problems. These include the impossibility to register personal property, an acute shortage of land, water scarcity on agricultural lands and an absence of natural gas in a number of villages.

Following the meeting, the regional authorities were instructed to take urgent measures to solve the problems.

In particular, the regional authorities must prepare a full inventory of agricultural lands and overcome the water scarcity problems by April 1, register all plots of land and buildings by May 31 and build gas distribution networks in 6 villages by the beginning of the next academic year. They were also instructed to set the boundaries of these territorial entities and delineate local pastures.
