Uzbekistan to supply 1,000 tonnes of wheat and cotton seeds to Kyrgyzstan

The document also provides for training students from Kyrgyzstan in animal husbandry at the universities in Uzbekistan.

On March 17, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a partner roadmap for agriculture and food supply, the press office of the Ministry reported.

The document provides for the supply of agricultural products (including potatoes, seeds), testing, registration and import of new varieties of grain crops to the two countries, training students from Kyrgyzstan in animal husbandry at the universities in Uzbekistan, as well as bilateral cooperation between research institutes.

Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to supply the Kyrgyz Republic with 10,000 fruit and berry seedlings, 1,000 tonnes of winter wheat seeds and 500 tonnes of seeds of the Sultan cotton variety.

As was reported, the leader of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov visited Uzbekistan for a state visit, during which the two countries signed the above action plan.
