Government of Kazakhstan makes clear employer-employee relationship

The importance of providing secure employment and ensuring timely payment for work is growing during the pandemic.

On March 13, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov chaired a meeting of the trilateral commission on the regulation of social and labour relations. The executive state body, republican associations of employers and trade unions signed a general agreement during the meeting, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Members of the central and local trade unions, employers, deputy akims of the regions and the Minister of Labour and Social Protection were invited to the meeting.

Addressing the participants, Tugzhanov noted that the importance of providing secure employment and ensuring timely payment for work was growing difficult times caused by the pandemic. In this regard, coherent actions of trade unions that are to protect the interests of employers and employees become a high priority.

The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the state bodies and regional executive administrations to conduct in-depth analysis of the measures taken by employers to optimise the staffing decisions and the terms of payment for work, set unified payment standards and ensure continuous monitoring by sectoral commissions.

The Government, republican associations of employers and trade unions signed the general agreement for 2021-2023 during the meeting. The document sets forth the tasks for employers, including the creation of favourable and safe working conditions for employees.
