It is planned to organize an online meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan specialized bodies to discuss issues in this area in detail.
On March 4, the Turkmen consul in the Astrakhan region, Guich Garayev, met with the general director of the SEZ Lotos JSC Sergey Milushkin. The parties discussed the tasks on creating a logistics center of Turkmenistan on the territory of Astrakhan, and also planned to arrange an online conference as soon as possible to further discuss issues related to this subject, as reported by the electronic newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».
Specific attention was paid to the favorable development of trade and economic partnership in the Caspian region. It was also noted that the territory of the PSEZ, where the center will be created, is considered as a platform for optimizing commodity flows and improving competitiveness, investment activities, and providing economic equipment for the operation of forwarding and transport institutions.
The general director of «Lotos» approved the initiative of the Turkmen representative, the purpose of which is to diversify economic assistance in the Caspian region, and expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support for the implementation of this project
It should be noted that Ukraine is interested in the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. Besides, an event dedicated to improving transport and trade links in the Caspian region during the pandemic was held in Geneva.
