Kindergartens in Uzbekistan to receive teaching robots

MPSE launched a project to develop algorithmic thinking among children using smart robots Albert and Genibot.

On February 9, representatives of Uzbekistan and South Korea took part in a solemn presentation of improved robots within an online meeting. The built-in software of robots is designed to teach kids coding skills and strengthen algorithmic thinking. It was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Preschool Education of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the ministries of preschool education of both countries, the Korea Institute For Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA), the Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations and Companies FRG Korea, Dazzle Edu, Genie Robot, SK Telecom. Uzbekistan received 275 robots and 350 teaching aids as a gift from Korea.

Director of the Innovation Center for Information and Pedagogical Technologies Oyatillo Rakhmatillayev noted that these robots will help develop thinking, ingenuity, logic, the ability to determine the structure of things and choose the best solution. The world is now dominated by the age of new modern computer technologies. Software management skills, knowledge of computer languages has become necessary. He stressed that the country wants the knowledge of the younger generation to correspond to the conditions of our time.

Smart cars are designed for children aged 6 and over. With the help of special programming cards, the student can independently control it, force it to perform various functions. And older children will be able to connect a smartphone to it and create their algorithms.

— Our future belongs to robotics and an automated enterprise. We are very pleased to be part of this progress in Uzbekistan, and we sincerely believe that productive cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan in the fields of robotics and innovation will develop further,  — said Jeon-il Moon, head of KIRIA.

Albert and Genibot robots will be distributed among 53 preschool educational institutions throughout the republic. The Innovation Center for Information and Pedagogical Technologies under MPSE is responsible for training teachers in organizations and monitoring the results of the project.
