The former head of the Cabinet, while working in the civil service, increased his assets, several times bigger than his official income.
On January 27, 2021, the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan informed citizens that the former Prime Minister, Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, was placed in the temporary detention center of the SCNS. He is suspected of corruption, as reported by the press office of the relevant government agency.
The representatives of the committee noted that in order to legalize assets, Abylgaziev bought expensive movable and immovable objects in Bishkek, Issyk-Kul region and Chui region.
Also, according to the information, in order to avoid criminal responsibility, the above objects were registered to a third party.
Besides, according to the investigation, as head of government, Abylgaziev, contrary to the interests of the state and citizens, within violation of the laws, signed a decree, according to which CJSC Kumtor Gold Company was additionally provided with territories for geological exploration and gold mining. As a result, the total area of the mine doubled and reached 26.3 thousand hectares, including several glaciers and a reserved area.
