Hypermarkets in the capital of Kazakhstan permitted to work around the clock

Cinemas, restaurants, cafes and bars are permitted to work until midnight.

The Nur-Sultan authorities permitted hypermarkets to work around the clock, starting from December 25. Cinemas will resume their work on December 26. Mayor of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov allowed the city facilities to gain freedom of action on the eve of the New Year, the website of the akimat of the main city of Kazakhstan reports.

Chief Sanitary Doctor of Nur-Sultan Zhanna Parlieva commented on the decision. She noted that large crowds of people always gathered at shopping centres before the holidays. In order to avoid large-scale public gatherings, the restrictions on the opening hours for large shopping facilities with an area of over 2000 sq. metres were unveiled.

In accordance with the resolution, shopping facilities are allowed to operate during new trading hours only if they strictly comply with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements. Hypermarket managers must ensure that the operations are conducted in strict compliance with these requirements.

Cinemas in Nur-Sultan will resume their work on December 26 on the same terms. They are allowed to open between 10 am and midnight. The auditorium can seat spectators inside only at 30% capacity.  The facilities that do not comply with these rules will have to close.

Cafes, bars and restaurants will stay open until midnight. No festivities, large public gatherings, sporting and other mass events are permitted.
