On December 20, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reported to the leader of Kazakhstan on the measures taken to address the pressing issues of the sanitary and epidemiological situation and the socio-economic development of the country, the press office of Akorda reported.
The head of government reported that the anti-coronavirus campaign was under control. Effective control measures have made it possible to reduce the daily growth rate of infections to 0.4%.
When comparing the growth rate of infections in the regions, the Prime Minister reported to the President that Atyrau region was located in the red zone. Kostanay and Akmola regions are in the yellow zone, and the remaining regions are in the green zone.
The Prime Minister also reported that Phase III clinical trials of QazCovid-in vaccine, developed on the national platform, started on December 19. At the same time, 3,000 citizens are receiving the vaccine on a voluntary basis.
