On December 16, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the chairman of parliament, members of the Cabinet, heads of public and political organizations. The leader of the country instructed the officials to expand support for women in the field of science and business, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
The head of the National Center of Trade Unions and the Central Council of the Women’s Union Gurbangul Atayeva was the first speaker at the meeting. She reported on the work carried out by the subordinate structures.
Berdimuhamedov ordered the official to expand support for women who are engaged in scientific activities and entrepreneurship. He paid special attention to the introduction of the experience of representatives of the Women’s Union in the relevant direction.
The President pointed out the importance of ensuring control over the compliance with laws on public and political associations, gender equality by the Turkmen parliament.
Within the framework of the meeting, the relevant civil servants were also given instructions on carrying out agitation and educational work among girls to clarify their rights and responsibilities, the importance of the institution of the family, the moral foundations of society.
It must be added that in April of this year, the local authorities announced their intentions to attract more women to participate in important state affairs.
