Kazakhstan celebrates 29th Independence anniversary

Tokayev noted that the history of independence is closely related to the personality of the first president — Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.

On December 14, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the solemn presentation of state awards and prizes to industry leaders on the 29th anniversary of the independence of the state. Before the award ceremony, Tokayev congratulated his compatriots, as reported by the press office of the president.

The leader of the country drew the attention of the honorable society to the fact that independence is the greatest value that the ancestors always wanted to receive. The history of independence of Kazakhstan is directly related to the first president — Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev marked Tokayev.

The President underlined that in 2020, the coronavirus prevented the Kazakh people from a wide celebration of this important holiday. To protect the health and life of citizens, the events are planned to be held online and in a brief format. It should be noted that Kazakhstan celebrates Independence Day on December 16-17.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that his main task as a president is to create social comfort and achieve the steady well-being of the people. Therefore, all activities of the state are focused on improving the living conditions of the population. As an example, the President noted the increase in the size of pensions, social benefits, insurance payments, as well as the introduction of a guaranteed social package for low-income families.

At the end of the speech, the head of the state announced a new set of reforms, which will be declared at the beginning of 2021.
