President of Turkmenistan noted the importance of the implementation of the TAPI project and the construction of two gas-turbine units at the TCOR.
On October 28, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the participants of the XXV International Conference «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan» (OGT-2020). The leader of the country underlined that the forum will be of great importance for the exchange of experience between local and foreign experts, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan has huge hydrocarbon reserves. According to him, the energy strategy of the state is focused on integrating the fuel and energy sector into the global energy system.
The president stressed that today the country is successfully exporting gas to the countries of Europe, Central, and South-East Asia. The head of the state emphasized the importance of implementing the TAPI gas pipeline project, which will expand the export potential of the state and help strengthen peace and stability in the region.
Berdimuhamedov added that Turkmenistan effectively strengthens relationships with large foreign oil and gas companies and financial institutions. Moreover, the country actively develops oil and gas fields, expands the export of oil and gas chemical products.
Turkmen leader highlighted that the construction of two gas-turbine units at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) has recently been started. According to him, it stimulates the development of the relevant industry. He paid special attention to the gas chemical complexes built in the Balkan and Ahal provinces.
It must be added, the OGT-2020 conference will be held on October 28-29 online. Leading representatives of the global fuel and energy sector, financiers, scientists, employees of international organizations, as well as local specialists take part in it. The event is broadcast in more than 70 countries.
