On April 21, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Galkan HC players and coaches on winning the International Ice Hockey Tournament in Ashgabat. The President expressed belief that this tournament has contributed greatly to strengthening friendly, fraternal and good neighbourly relations among peoples, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
«The International Ice Hockey Tournament at the modern Winter Sports Complex has demonstrated once again to the world that our country is capable of hosting international winter sports tournaments, along with major sporting events,» Berdimuhamedov noted.
The President said this major international tournament, organised at a high level, will raise the international sporting prestige of Turkmenistan, contribute to turning it into a sports power and give impetus to promote ice hockey in Turkmenistan.
«Moving further along the courageous and victorious path of our ancestors, you, by performing at international sports tournaments and winning medals, must confirm the high skill of Turkmen athletes! I firmly believe that by showing good results at various sports tournaments, you will raise the Flag of our beloved Motherland high and uphold the sporting honour of Turkmenistan,» Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.
