Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov chaired the 14th meeting of the Kazakhstan-European Union Dialogue Platform, the press office of the Prime Minister reports.
The high-ranking diplomats from the EU Member States and the top managers of major European companies attended the meeting. Key aspects of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as water resources management and agricultural development plans were discussed.
Olzhas Bektenov underscored the important role of partnerships with the European Union in improving water infrastructure efficiency given the current difficult flood situation in the country. He said the country is interested in the advanced expertise and technologies of European partners and companies, noting the importance of coordinating efforts with EU funding programmes.
Bektenov added that water resource issues directly affect agricultural productivity and efficiency, and therefore bilateral cooperation with the EU should be enhanced.
