President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated citizens of Turkmenistan on International Day of Nowruz. The President noted that the spring holiday fosters good traits in a human soul and nurtures selflessness, as well as love for nature, life and the world, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
«Nowruz, which has a special place in the life of the peoples of the East, is a holiday of humanism, unity, friendship and brotherhood. Maintaining the cultural and spiritual values of their glorious ancestors, the Turkmen people have been widely celebrating this day from time immemorial, observing its traditions. Nowruz, associated with revival, prosperity and renewal of life, is of special importance for building good relations among nations,» Berdimuhamedov noted.
The President emphasised that the historical significance of the spring holiday was reflected in the works of classics of the East — Dovletmammet Azadi, Magtymguly Fraghi, Nurmuhammet Andalyp, Abu Rayhan Biruni, Omar Khayyam, Alisher Navoiy, Abdyrahman Jamy, Ferdowsi and Mahmyt Kashgarly.
The President expressed belief that the bright events marking Nowruz will inspire the people of Turkmenistan to achieve grandiose goals for the benefit of the Motherland and contribute to promoting age-old traditions, customs and rich cultural heritage.
