On March 12, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a speech at the 15th Meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) in Ashgabat. The Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted that this organisation contributes to uniting the Turkic peoples around the rich historical heritage, traditions, customs and moral principles, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
«The Council of Elders is a wise assistant and advisor of the Organization of Turkic States and their leaders. Our life experience and knowledge contribute to making well thought-out, far-sighted decisions at the state level. It helps evaluate accurately issues of domestic and international life. The Council renders an inestimable service in bringing up our youth and choosing the right path by them,» Hero-Arkadag noted.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasised that Turkmenistan considers it necessary to create an effective, reliable, self-sufficient model of cooperation to respond to instability in world energy markets. Turkmenistan is ready to supply energy resources to fraternal countries and increase these supplies.
«We are ready to provide further assistance to fraternal countries in achieving energy security. In the future, a permanently operating integrated transmission grid can be set up. In this case, the Turkic states will be able to make the most of the advantages of geographical proximity, resource potential and means of supply,» Hero-Arkadag emphasised.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the importance of cooperation among the Turkic states in the transport sector, proposing the development of a unified transport strategy.
«In my opinion, now we should talk about redefining and adapting to this great historical mission of the Turkic peoples. It is through this that a new architecture of cooperation on the Eurasian continent will be built. Once its main areas in politics, economy, trade and culture and worldview are determined, this work needs be made sustainable and consistent,» the National Leader of the Turkmen people said.
