Tajikistan and Uzbekistan strengthen cooperation on green economy

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime of Minister Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov met to discuss key aspects of bilateral cooperation. The parties expressed belief that the two countries have the significant potential for strengthening relations and boosting development in various areas, for example, in green economy, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The participants of the meeting discussed priority areas of cooperation, including agriculture, industry and economic growth. They dwelt on the current state and prospects for cooperation between the two countries. The agenda covered the opportunities for building strong partnerships.

Emomali Rahmon and Abdulla Aripov talked about the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation, which focused on expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries. In 2023, bilateral trade reached $504 million, and the parties intend to increase this figure several times in the future.
