President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed the Decree on military discharge and conscription for military service in the spring, Asia-Plus reports.
According to the press office of the President of Tajikistan, in April-May 2024, military servants will be discharged from the units, such as the Armed Forces, border troops, the National Guard and the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, among others.
Adult male citizens who are not entitled to a deferment from military service will be conscripted from April 1 to May 31, 2024. In 2024, men who are born between 1997 and 2006 will be conscripted.
On the eve of the spring conscription, Emomali Rahmon instructed that the Ministry of Defence of Tajikistan take into the features of military service in various units — from border troops and the National Guard to special forces units when conscripting. The Ministry of Health was instructed to assist in conducting medical examinations of conscripts.
