Speaker of the lower house of Parliament of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov held meetings with the high-ranking officials of the Russian Federation during his visit to Moscow. He met with Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the press office of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly reported.
The talks focused on the plans to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries and promote economic and cultural interaction.
Valentina Matvienko noted positive development of relations between Russia and Kazakhstan through the active interaction between the governments and parliaments. Erlan Koshanov emphasised the importance of friendly relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, noting that the Russian Federation a reliable partner and strategic ally of his country.
It was emphasised during the meeting with Vyacheslav Volodin that the interparliamentary dialogue should meet the level of relations between the leaders of the two countries. The parties expressed readiness to intensify relations for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan.
