Chairman of Government of Kazakhstan holds meetings in Moscow

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov is on a working visit to Russia. The aim is to hold talks with his counterpart on the promotion of cooperation and the implementation of bilateral agreements, the press office of the Government of the Republic reported.

The talks with Chairman of the RF Government Mikhail Mishustin are held in the narrow and expanded formats. The main agenda issues were the progress in the implementation of agreements between RF President Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and the steps to further strengthen mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation. The parties also discussed promoting humanitarian cooperation.

Bektenov noted that interaction has shown positive trends in recent years. In particular, entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan and Russia are implementing 135 projects worth $26.5 billion. 67 joint projects worth $14 billion in such sectors of the economy as machine building, metallurgy and the chemical industry are under development. Through joint efforts, the parties are going to create over 11,000 jobs.

Bektenov will meet with Chairman of the Government of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov in Tashkent. According to the press office, the parties will discuss the prospects for implementing new trade and investment projects. The agenda covers issues of mutual interest in industry, energy, agriculture and logistics.
