On March 1, speaking at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov review the social and economic development of the country for the first two months of 2024, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
The President noted that GDP remained at the level of the beginning of the year — 6.3 percent. The growth rate in the industrial sector stood at 5.6 percent, the trade sector — 8,1%, the transport and communications sector — 6,6% and the agricultural sector — 3,9%. The President emphasised the need to maintain the existing growth dynamics despite the world economic situation.
On the eve of International Women’s Day, Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree on the conferment of the honorary title of Ene Mähri on mothers with many children. The President noted the role of women in maintaining family traditions, raising the younger generation and strengthening the unity of society.
«In our independent country, dear mothers, who raise the prestige of the Motherland with their work, are highly respected,» the President emphasised.
In his speech, the President noted that the festive events marking the birth anniversary of the prominent Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fraghi will take place in March.
