On February 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov an invitation to take part in the events marking the 300th birth anniversary of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fraghi, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
The President expressed belief that the upcoming visit of the Chairman of Halk Maslahaty will contribute to bilateral cooperation and step up the implementation of joint projects and programmes.
The President highly evaluated the creativity and works of the Turkmen philosopher, noting that the invaluable heritage of not only Magtymguly, but also such great Turkmen poets as Azadi, Mollanepes, Andalib, Kemine, Zelili and Seydi is currently taught at schools and universities in the country.
Mirziyoyev said the anniversary events include the All-Republic contest of young performers «The best performer of songs based on Magtymguly’s poems» and the creation of a feature film and a play involving actors and theatre artists.
