Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali presented the projects for the renovation and improvement of streets, avenues and microdistricts of the capital city to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the press office of the President of the Republic reported the details.
Rustam Emomali noted that it is planned to improve an area of about 110 hectares on the left bank of the Dushanbe River, stretching from Abdulakhad Kakhorov Street to the Southern Bypass Street. An area of 138.1 hectares on Sadi Sherozi Avenue will be repaired and landscaped. The project envisages building recreation and entertainment facilities inter alia in the improved areas.
President Rahmon noted the need to build social and communication infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, kindergartens, sports and entertainment centres. He also proposed including parks, public gardens, wide roads, electrical and lighting networks in the project.
Rahmon highlighted the importance of building low-rise apartment houses. Furthermore, he recommended building shopping centres in all the districts of Dushanbe, including on the outskirts, which will help the city reduce traffic congestion.
