President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev took part in a meeting of the Parliament and addressed the parliamentarians. He emphasised that the main goal is to make Kazakhstan an advanced country, and this is not just a slogan, but a specific task, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.
The President urged to conduct drastic political reforms and profound changes in Kazakhstan’s economy, so that all measures would contribute to the implementation of the principles of Fair Kazakhstan.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that the social and economic policy should give a new impetus and informed about new laws on taxes, budget and public procurement, which lay a good foundation for changes on a state level.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev nominated the candidate to lead the Government — an experienced civil servant Olzhas Bektenov. 69 parliamentarians supported the candidate, and 7 parliamentarians abstained. The newly appointed Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the trust granted and assured that he would make every effort to fulfil the tasks assigned to the Government.
