Last year, the IT service exports increased and reached $344 million in all the regions of Uzbekistan, Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov said, the Telegram channel of the Minister reported.
Shermatov noted that exports have seen significant growth largely thanks to residents of the IT park; the largest share of exports fell on Tashkent. The Minister emphasised that IT companies must intensify export activity and increase the share of exports to 50 percent by the end of 2027.
This year it is planned to motivate young people to learn foreign languages and information technologies, as well as attract foreign companies to the regions of Uzbekistan to propel export growth. Now 1,600 IT companies operate in the country, and IT service exports are expected to continue to grow and exceed $300 million by the end of the year.
