Chairman of Kyrgyz Government speaks about fight against drugs

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov attended a ceremony of handing over police cars to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic. The cars were donated by the Government of the Russian Federation to the Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Akylbek Zhaparov emphasised that it is the task of not only law enforcement agencies, but also society as a whole to fight illegal drug trafficking. He said all types of drugs cause irreparable harm to human health and jeopardize public safety. He emphasised the importance of consolidating society to fight drugs, calling on every citizen to contribute to sensitizing the population to the dangers and harmful effects of drugs.

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers dwelt on the economic development indicators, noting that Kyrgyzstan’s GDP exceeded 1,228.9 trillion soms in 2023, reaching a 6,2% growth rate.
