President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun during his state visit to China. It was emphasised during the meeting that the joint projects between Uzbekistan and this financial organisation exceed $3 billion, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.
The talks focused on important aspects of expanding bilateral cooperation in many areas. Currently, Uzbekistan and the AIIB are implementing joint initiatives in energy, water supply and entrepreneurship.
President Mirziyoyev highlighted the importance of increasing funding for programmes for the processing of strategic natural resources. The President of Uzbekistan and the President of the AIIB decided on a Cooperation Programme until 2026 during the talks.
