President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the measures to be taken to boost tourist arrivals and inbound tourism in the country during a regular meeting. It is planned to build 12 tourist centres in the most attractive cities and regions of the Republic to implement this initiative, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
These centres will house cafes, restaurants, swimming pools and health facilities operating around the clock.
Furthermore, there will be global brand stores, as well as national silk fabrics, souvenirs, jewellery and gold bars will be sold in resort areas and at entertainment centres.
To stimulate the growth in this sector, the real estate and land tax will be reduced by 90% for entrepreneurs operating in tourist centres until January 1, 2027, and this category of entrepreneurs will be exempt from customs duties on imported equipment and technologies for making jewellery and gold products until March 1, 2026.
Events aimed at promoting medical, extreme, environmental and health tourism will be held as part of the Travel in Every Season Programme.
