Kazakhstan seeks to export more chicken eggs to Russia

Deputy Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Russia Serik Zhumangarin and Alexey Overchuk met to discuss important issues of bilateral trade, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports.

The Russian side asked Kazakhstan to increase the supply of chicken eggs to Russian retail networks. Serik Zhumangarin instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to consider this issue and find ways of increasing the supply of these products to the border regions of the Russian Federation. He emphasised the need to turn flexible to make decisions on food safety issues.

As reported, the poultry farms in Kazakhstan met the domestic demand for chicken eggs by 102% in 2022. For 11 months of 2023, Kazakhstan exported about 186.6 million chicken eggs to Russia, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The parties agreed to hold an enlarged bilateral meeting in Moscow before a meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, scheduled for January 26, 2024, to resolve the problems of delays of Kazakh trucks at the border between Russia and Belarus.
