On January 17, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Vice-President of the European Commission (EC) Margaritis Schinas. The interlocutors discussed the prospects of cooperation. Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
The President emphasised the importance of the upcoming Investors Forum for EU-Central Asia Transport Connectivity, scheduled to be held in Brussels in late January this year.
Berdimuhamedov noted that transport and logistics are the major areas of cooperation on the current agenda of Turkmenistan-EU partnerships. In this context, the President assured that Turkmenistan would take an active part in the forum.
The President of Turkmenistan added that the outcomes of the forum will make it possible to turn the Trans-Caspian transport corridor connecting Central Asia and Europe into a multimodal, modern, stable and high-speed route.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that the current visit of the EC Vice-President would be a splendid opportunity to conduct fruitful talks with Turkmen counterparts and discuss the opportunities and prospects of Turkmenistan-EU cooperation.
