Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructs authorities to give 100,000 people access to professions

On January 16, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting, at which he expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the implementation of employment programmes in the country. He ordered vocational education and foreign language training be provided to 100,000 employees, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

The President expressed concern about migrant workers from Uzbekistan, noting that many of them do not have any education and qualifications and don’t know the language of the host country.

Uzbekistan entered into agreements with developed countries in Europe and Asia to provide employment to 150,000 workers. However, 9,000 workers were sent, which is 6% of the planned number, the President said.

Earlier, the authorities of Uzbekistan informed about their intention to ensure employment of 5 million citizens this year. The President noted that creating new sustainable jobs is essential to achieving this goal and reducing poverty. It was also noted at the meeting that the employment plan was fulfilled by 70% last year.
