Speaker of Mazhilis of Kazakhstan reports on legislative activities

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev reviewed the work done by the lower house of Parliament of Kazakhstan. 69 draft laws are currently under discussion, a one-third of which were proposed by parliamentarians, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.

The adopted laws include the documents on the protection and safety of children, business processes, the use of subsoil, the National Fund for Children programme and payments for workers engaged in hazardous work.

Chairman of the lower house of Parliament of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov reported that the party factions and single-seat parliamentarians have intensified their activities, which contributes to improving the quality of discussions, and that the hearings on financial literacy, government watches regarding medicine and trade policy were held.

Commenting on the report, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev highly evaluated the work done by Mazhilis in 2023 and highlighted the importance of adopting laws that bolster socio-economic reforms in the country.
