Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev was re-vaccinated against COVID-19. He received the Sinovac vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), the press office of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Beishenaliev noted that the number of COVID cases is growing in many countries, and WHO recommends people resume wearing masks and getting vaccinated. Though the situation in Kyrgyzstan is stable, the Minister urged all citizens of the Republic to get a COVID-19 vaccine, noting that it is one of the most effective ways to combat vaccine-preventable diseases, including COVID-19. Vaccination helps prevent complications and reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
The WHO-approved Sinovac vaccine is available to citizens of Kyrgyzstan. 150,000 doses of the vaccine that expire in June 2024 are available. 20,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are to be delivered in the first quarter of 2024.
