On December 27, the solemn opening ceremony of 5 solar and 1 wind power plants took place in the regions of Uzbekistan. President of the Republic of Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the ceremony, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported by CentralAsia.news.
As part of the ceremony, Shavkat Mirziyev held meetings with the foreign officials, including Vice President of China Energy Engineering Corp. Yun Wu, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi and President of China Gezhouba Group Co. Lyu Zexiang.
The power plants were constructed in 9 months, which is the record shortest period. The total cost of the construction projects is $ 2 billion. As a result, 2 million households will have access to reliable power supply. Furthermore, these power plants will make it possible to save 2 billion cubic metres of natural gas. Industrial products and services are expected to improve and reach $ 4 billion.
