Sadyr Japarov at SEEC meeting: We have achieved macroeconomic stability

Speaking at the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov noted that the Eurasian Economic Union has achieved macroeconomic stability and financial system resilience through joint efforts, the press office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

Japarov emphasised that macroeconomic stability was achieved through joint efforts of the EAEU Member States despite the difficulties and challenges of modern times.

Sadyr Japarov expressed belief that the EAEU economy has adapted to new conditions. Moreover, it continues to develop. For example, the share of cooperation goods in the total volume of trade is increasing: up to 38 percent last year. Food security is on the forefront — it is given particular attention.

The major areas of development include e-commerce. In 2022, the e-commerce markets in the EAEU Member States totalled about $80 billion. The share of e-commerce in the total volume of retail trade varies from 2% to 12,5% depending on the country. This testifies to the rapid growth in this sector and its importance for the EAEU economy.
