IT Village in Uzbekistan attracts schoolchildren to IT sector

On December 20, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic. He was informed about the launch of the IT Village project, which is designed to encourage 1st-9th graders to learn information technology, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Ministry made a presentation on the progress of the implementation of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy. It is aimed at transforming the country into a regional IT hub. To achieve this goal, the authorities will take large-scale measures to digitalize public administration, develop communication infrastructure and improve the quality of IT education.

The IT Village is one of the projects aimed at improving IT education. The President was informed about the launch of a similar project in Nurabad district of Samarkand Region. The IT Village will provide training in the basic concepts of information technology to 1st-9th graders. The President instructed that similar centres be built throughout the country.
